Play 2 Airdrop (P2A) Season 2 FAQ
P2A FAQ

Season 2 of TMA P2A is almost upon us so it's time to dive into the FAQ, highlighting the changes made for S2.

What is P2A Season 2?

P2A Season 2 is the second Play 2 Airdrop event in The Machines Arena (TMA), where players can earn $TMA tokens through consistent gameplay and participation. Running for four weeks starting on November 5 at 12:00 UTC. This season offers 22 million $TMA tokens for players who actively engage and contribute to leaderboard performance.

How Do I Get Started with P2A Season 2?

  • Log In or Sign Up: Log in to The Machines Arena website or sign up if you don’t have a TMA account.
  • Participate Daily: Engage in matches, check in daily, and complete quests to maximize your points.
  • Track Your Progress: Use the leaderboard to monitor your standings and check your progress in real-time.

Gameplay changes

A cap has been put in place that allows maximum two players to queue up together in a party for ranked matches.

How Are Points Acquired in Season 2?

Points are acquired through a variety of activities and for season two the focus of points generation is on gameplay:

  • Gameplay: Earn points for each match you complete, with a significant increase in rewards per match compared to the previous season.
    • For season two, winning a match is worth double points compared to losing a match.

  • A death run that runs over the 20.000 deathrun PTS threshold yields 40 points.
  • Daily Check-In: Log in daily to receive additional points.
  • Asset Ownership: Points vary based on the assets you own, though asset point rewards have been reduced for Epic and Rare assets, full breakdown can be found later in the FAQ.
  • VIP Status: VIP remains mostly unchanged although it is no longer required to place on leaderboard and be eligible for airdrop, however players receive a daily points bonus and VIP level increases the day 1 unlock for its holder, and since season 2 only runs 4 weeks the VIP value for Day 1 unlock have been adjusted.
    • VIP 4 = 10%
    • VIP 3 = 6%
    • VIP 2 = 4%
    • VIP 1 = 2%
    • VIP can be upgraded like in previous seasons
    • Note: maximum day 1 unlock earned from VIP is 10% total.
  • Quests: Complete quests, now adjusted to prioritize play rather than win conditions & repeatable quests have been removed.

This season places a higher emphasis on matches, making consistent gameplay the main way to earn points.

What Rewards Can I Earn in Season 2?

Season 2 distributes the allocated 22 million $TMA tokens, based on leaderboard performance. The leaderboard is divided into five brackets, with a greater share of tokens allocated to higher-performing players. Here’s the token distribution for each bracket:

  • Bracket 1 (Players ranked 1-600): 45%
  • Bracket 2 (Players ranked 601-1500): 25%
  • Bracket 3 (Players ranked 1501-3000): 15%
  • Bracket 4 (Players ranked 3001-4500): 10%
  • Bracket 5 (Players ranked 4501-6000): 5%

The goal is to reward top performers while still providing meaningful rewards across all player brackets.

How Does the Leaderboard Work?

The leaderboard ranks players based on the points they earn from gameplay and other qualifying activities. Players must complete at least 20 matches to qualify for the leaderboard, where the top 6,000 players qualify for rewards. Points earned from match participation carry more weight this season, emphasizing consistent play as a primary way to progress.

What is the Token Unlock Schedule?

The token unlock schedule for Season 2 is the same structure as Season 1, with an initial payout at the Token Generation Event (TGE) and the remaining tokens unlocked over six months, contingent on gameplay activity.

If a player participates in both seasons, the higher day-one unlock value will be applied to all tokens earned from both seasons.

Initial Unlock: Players receive an initial 15% payout at TGE, which can increase up to 35% based on their leaderboard position, VIP membership level, and team performance. Here’s how additional unlock percentages can be earned:

  • VIP Purchases:
    • +10% for each VIP 4 purchased or upgraded to
    • +6% for each VIP 3 purchased or upgraded to
    • +4% for each VIP 2 purchased or upgraded to
    • +2% for each VIP 1 purchased or upgraded to
  • Team Performance:
    • +5% for members of the top team
    • +4% for members of the 2nd and 3rd teams
    • +3% for members of the 4th through 7th teams
    • +2% for members of the 8th through 15th teams
    • +1% for members of the 16th through 30th teams
  • Leaderboard Bracket:
    • +5% for Bracket 1 players
    • +4% for Bracket 2 players
    • +3% for Bracket 3 players
    • +2% for Bracket 4 players
    • +1% for Bracket 5 players

Remaining Tokens Unlock: Tokens not unlocked at TGE will be distributed over six months, with daily payouts based on consistent gameplay:

  • First 45 payouts: 0.35% of the remaining tokens per day
  • Next 45 payouts: 0.5% of the remaining tokens per day
  • Final 90 payouts: 0.68% of the remaining tokens per day
  • Final tokens will be fully unlocked on the last day of the six-month period

Example: If a player earned 1,000 tokens, placed in the top bracket, had a high team rank, purchased VIP 4 twice, and maintained daily gameplay:

  • 350 tokens would be unlocked at TGE (35% of 1,000).
  • Daily unlocks would start with 3.5 tokens per day for the first 45 days, then 5 tokens per day for the next 45 days, and 6.8 tokens per day for the final 90 days, with a final payout on the last day.

In short, the unlock schedule rewards active and engaged players, with higher payouts at TGE for those who meet specific performance and engagement criteria.

How Do Teams Work in Season 2?

Teams offer a way for players to strategize and earn together. For Season 2:

  • Team Reset: All teams have been reset, allowing players to form new groups or join existing ones.
  • Maximum Team Size: Teams are capped at 250 players.

Being part of a team allows players to track shared progress and support each other in reaching higher brackets.

How Do I Track My Progress?

Players can track their points and standings on the leaderboard, which updates regularly. This helps players see their progress towards the next bracket and monitor their position relative to other participants.
